Meditation Classes:
When: Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
Where: Old Petrie Town , 366 Dayboro Rd, Kurwongbah. (building next door to the Bakery)

Our lives are so full of stress, it often feels like there are not enough hours in the day and we can sometimes find it hard to cope with our busy lifestyle. Meditation is a great way to reduce stress and bring balance and harmony into your life. If you can meditate at least two to three times a week you will find that you will have more clarity and are better able to cope with the day-to-day situations that present themselves.
Just sitting outside enjoying nature, watching your children play and having fun, daydreaming are all forms of meditation. We don't have to see or feel anything. We just have to find a way that suits us to switch off for even 5 minutes a day. If you can do that you will start to feel calmer and more relaxed.
Below is a short meditation where you meet your Inner Child.
The child within you, stores all of your emotional memory and experiences in the brain from your earliest memory. These early memories shape the way we think and feel and how we deal with stressful situations on our journey through life. This meditation will help you to connect with the child within and this child will assist you to release any negative emotional experiences that you had during your childhood.
You will then find that your thought patterns will slowly start to change and you will start to have a more positive outlook on life.Your stress levels will slowly drop as you consciously allow more fun, laughter and balance to come into your life.
You can make you own tape of this meditation and lay and listen to it with soft music in the background.
The Child Within
Find a quiet place, lay down and close your eyes.
Breathe deeply 3 - 4 times and feel yourself relaxing.
Now go into your heart space and breathe in a beautiful golden light, feel this light spreading through your whole body, this is a golden light of love. When your body is filled with this light, pass it through your feet and anchor it to the centre of the earth.
Now feel yourself going deep within, allow yourself to release any stray thoughts from your mind as you become lighter and lighter until you feel yourself drift into a blissful state of relaxation.
See yourself standing in a beautiful garden…. This is your special garden, tall trees surround the garden and their branches reach out over the garden like a canopy….. small rose bushes are nestled beneath the trees. They are covered in beautiful flowers of many colours pinks, yellows, reds and purple, you watch them gently sway in the breeze as you breathe in their relaxing perfume…... You listen to the sound of birds singing high in the treetops, their beautiful songs relax you, as you watch beautifully coloured butterflies as the delicately fly from flower to flower.
In the distance there are some horses grazing on the long grass. Two are standing under a large tree shading themselves from the warm sun…….. You wander further into the garden and hear the sound to water and notice a small babbling brook meandering through the garden, you stand there and watch the crystal clear water flowing over the small rocks………..you even catch sight of some small fish as they dart in and out amongst the rocks……... You cup your hands in the water and drink some of the cool and refreshing water……..
A sound in the distance distracts you and walk further into the garden…... the sound becomes louder and you realize it is someone laughing…….. you step into a clearing and see a small girl skipping through the long grass trying to catch brilliant blue butterflies. You watch her for a few moment seeing the innocence, joy and delight of this girl as she plays……...
The young girl senses someone watching her and she stops and turns towards you. Her little face looks familiar ……. you walk closer to her……. then as you stand in front of this girl you realize it is your inner child. You crouch down and put your arms out, the little girl rushes to you and you hug………. Old feelings come rushing back, the innocence of living in the now and the excitement and curiosity of learning and discovering new things every day…... The little girl looks into your eyes and smiles….... She wants you to follow her and you sense that there is lots to talk about with this beautiful child……...
You stand and take her hand and she leads you further into the garden…..
It is time to go now and you both hug , but you are happy as this beautiful child has helped you release the past and to reconnect with the child within you once more…………. and you vow to yourself that from this moment forward you will look at life more through a child’s eyes and consciously bring fun, laughter and balance into your journey through life..
When you are ready slowly bring your awareness back to the room. Feel the bed beneath you, wiggle your fingers and toes and bring yourself back to the now. You become aware of the room you are in and slowly open your eyes.
